Jerry Pair Leather

Good leather care begins with understanding the finish. Use the gentlest method appropriate to the category and always test any treatment discreetly first.

01

Everyday care

  • Keep leather away from prolonged direct sunlight and strong heat sources.
  • Remove loose dust regularly with a soft cloth or a vacuum fitted with a soft upholstery nozzle.
  • Attend to spills promptly by blotting rather than rubbing.
  • Avoid household cleaners, solvents, detergents and abrasive products.
02

Pure and semi-aniline

These leathers retain more of the hide’s natural surface and require a light touch. Dust with a clean white cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.

Do not use soaps or alkaline products: they can draw moisture from the leather and may lead to drying or cracking.

03

Protected leather

Wipe regularly with a clean white cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. For a stubborn mark, a very mild non-alkaline soap may be suitable when used sparingly.

Apply to the cloth rather than directly to the leather, work gently, and remove any residue with a second damp cloth.

04

Nubuck and suede

The open, velvety nap of nubuck and suede needs specialist care. Avoid wet cleaning unless the individual collection instructions expressly permit it.

Use a suitable suede or nubuck brush for light maintenance and contact the studio before treating oil, ink or ingrained marks.

Care requirements can vary between collections and finishes. Before treating a visible area, confirm the selected leather and request its collection-specific instructions from Valley & Laurel.
